Ugadi Pachadi the festive soup is prepared on the auspicious occasion of the arrival of the first festival of the spring season.  Mostly prepared and celebrated in the southern parts of India, the older custom is still being continued in all the families. A mixture of tamarind water, salt, chilli powder, jaggery, mangoes, neem flowers, mango along with sufficient water is offered to God during puja and then given to all the members of the family.

Tamarind – helps in digestion and is an excellent cleanser and also helps in the absorption of minerals.

Salt –   prevents dehydration and also balances the lost sodium through excess sweating during the hot heat ?

Chilli powder – improves immunity and also fights with any skin infections

Jaggery – Rich in Iron and prevents anaemia, acts as a perfect natural detoxifier which flushes out all the toxins from the liver. Also loaded with plenty of antioxidants.

Mangoes – Prevents from dehydration, and also helps in improving the blood circulation, Vitamin C helps in improving immunity and also the acids in mangoes helps in clearing off all the bacterial infection in the intestines if any. In short, mangoes act as tummy cleansers ?
